100% of all donations towards The Giusiana Family Scholarship will support students of The Academy seeking to become leaders for the next generation of police officers and within their communities.
The Giusiana Family Scholarship was founded to honor the positive impact that Gregory and Christine Giusiana have had on their community and on the law enforcement profession throughout the Bay Area. Recipients of the Scholarship will have demonstrated a commitment to community service as the Giusiana’s have over the years, as well as a deep desire to effect positive change through a successful law enforcement career.
The Giusiana Family Scholarship is the first law scholarship offered by the Foundation for Public Safety Training from South Bay Regional Public Safety Training Consortium.
Gregg Giusiana spent his entire career dedicated to serving the community. Currently the Vice President of Academy Services at South Bay Regional Public Safety Training Consortium, his previous accomplishments include: 34 year of service with the Gilroy Police Department with special assignments to the Gang Task Force and South County Domestic Violence Task Force, and the last 10 years as Chief;. Past President of the Garlic Festival (1988); Past Chair of the Gilroy Chamber of Commerce; and over 20 years with Gilroy Rotary (Past President, district twice as Assistant Governor, twice as Lieutenant Governor and District Governor Elect 2020-21). Gregg was awarded Gilroy’s Man of the year in 2015, the District 5170 Richard D King Award on behalf of The Rotary Foundation, and the Sydney R. Mitchell Award as outstanding Rotarian in District 5170.
Chris Giusiana immersed herself in the South Bay community and held the position of CEO/President of the Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce and of the Cupertino Chamber of Commerce, as well as CEO of the Campbell Chamber of Commerce. She has been a member of the Board for various causes including: Morgan Hill Rotary, Gilroy Police Wives Association, Leadership Morgan Hill, and Friends of the Heritage Theater. Chris has been chair and committee member for the Santa Clara Chamber of Commerce Coalition and Committee Chair of the American Cancer Society. She has volunteered for over 30 years at the Gilroy Garlic Festival and local food banks, oversees a community Giving Box in Gilroy, and has supported the Avon Breast Cancer Walk and Relay for Life by not only participating in the walks, but also volunteering her time and offering monetary donations.
Gregg and Chris are proud to share the scholarship with their entire family and have instilled their sense of community in their children. Ann Giusiana has managed the annual United Way Campaign through her employer for the past 15 years, raising approximately $2.4M during her tenure. She served on Allocations committees for both United Way of Santa Cruz County and United Way of Monterey County, lead fundraising for Second Harvest Food Bank and Stuff the Bus, and currently sits on Graniterock Cares Committee. Rachele Giusiana volunteers for the Gilroy Chamber of Commerce Garlic Festival Beer Booths, and oversees the collection of donations for victims of the Santa Rosa Fire and for the Gilroy Blessings Box. She also regularly participates in 5K marathons to raise money for various charities in the Bay Area. Gennifer Giusiana is a Director on the Board of Keep Scottsdale Beautiful and volunteers her time with organizations including Rotary International, the Boys and Girls Club of America, Feed My Starving Children and St. Mary’s Food Bank.
